The four temperaments

Temperament is the constitution you were built with. Crystals and Programs are the software running on top of it. Choose a dominant temperament, then a neighbor, and read your blend.

RGP reads biotype from the body (proportions, skin, jaw, hands, where fat is stored) plus medical history, not from a questionnaire. Choosing here is a starting point, not a diagnosis.

1. Pick your dominant·2. Pick a neighbor (optional)

CholericOpposite: shares no quality, so it cannot be paired.

Fire-Water (Fuego-Agua)RGP-specificException to the neighbor rule

RGP describes a rare pattern, mostly in women: the intensity of a choleric inside a phlegmatic body frame. Very strong presence, slim arms and shoulders, little muscle volume. It is an exception to the neighbor rule (fire and water are opposites), so treat it as RGP-specific and do not generalize it.

Body

Broad frame, hourglass tendency, built to carry weight. Retains fluid easily, slow circulation and digestion, feels cold, stores fat just under the skin and swells quickly.

Health notes (RGP)

RGP links this biology to fluid retention and a strong reaction to dairy and refined carbohydrates. Educational context only, not medical advice and not a diet prescription.

Where it tends to be common (RGP)

RGP calls it the most common biology in Latin America and associates it with many pre-Columbian cultures.

Strengths

Calm under pressure · natural diplomacy · quiet constant loyalty · born mediator · reliable · excellent listener · genuine patience · keeps perspective when others panic.

Shadow

Passivity · avoids needed conflict · indecision · resists change · low urgency · slides into inertia · needs a push to start · rarely volunteers an opinion.

Communication

Listens far more than it talks. Avoids direct confrontation and gives its real view only when asked, sometimes not even then.

Under stress

Retreats further. Can go passive-aggressive or simply go quiet and disappear from the conflict instead of resolving it.

At work

Thrives in support, mediation, administration, care and teaching. Needs predictable routine and low conflict.

Relationships

Most common ground with Sanguine (both wet) and Melancholic (both cold). Least in common with Choleric (opposite). In RGP's view it lives vicariously through the success of the people it loves.

Integrated

Builds deep bonds without losing itself inside them.

Disintegrated

Lives entirely through others, never asks to be cared for, and stores silent resentment from always giving.

Growth path

Conquer inertia and the habit of waiting. Take a stance, say what you really think, and act without waiting for someone else to push.

The 16 combinations

Four primaries by four secondaries gives 16 cells. Under the neighbor rule, 4 are pure, 8 are neighbor blends, and 4 are blocked opposites.

Biology vs personality

Biology is what you are built as. Personality is what you act like (a DISC style). When the two differ, the RGP method reads the gap as a clue to an early adaptation, often tied to how a child interpreted the mother (internal security, worth) and the father (external security, risk-taking). Use it as a question to explore, not a diagnosis.

  • Choleric
    Dominant (the Controller)

RGP asks, when a non-choleric person acts choleric, about not feeling loved by the mother.

  • Sanguine
    Influencer (the Promoter)

RGP reads a sanguine style as a sign of having received a lot of mother and a lot of father.

  • Melancholic
    Conscientious (the Analyzer)

RGP reads this style as a child who felt misunderstood by both parents.

  • Phlegmatic
    Steady (the Supporter)
